CAMPING!! (August 26-27)

Finally catching up with this one back from August

If someone was to ask me what is your favorite thing to do on the weekend,  I would never in a million years say camping.  It's not really my thing especially with a one year old in tow.  But I actually had a great time camping at Caspers Wilderness Park in San Juan Capistrano with the McBeths - Brandon, Melanie, and Ty (1yr).  The whole trip was really just a ploy by the men to buy their tents and have Woofums, but I guess it had to happen sooner or later and I am glad it did with the perfect warm temperature at night and the babies were surprisingly happy.  We had Hot Dogs, Veggies, Smores, and Woofums for night time.  No I had no idea what a Woofum was.  But Brandon and Riley were so excited about them, I think they might enjoy them more than Christmas morning itself.  They were very good, but I think I am still a S'more girl, hersheys will always have my heart.

In the morning, Melanie made these delicious cinnamon rolls that we all loved.  Then we went for a hike at the park and saw some pretty neat views.  It was fun minus the fact that it was practically 100 degrees at 10:00 in the morning.  I am glad we didn't go hiking later when it could have been hotter.  Overall, it was an awesome adventure of a trip!

Thursday, August 25 - Tent Night!

We finally bought a tent.  After three and half years of Riley bugging me (since we have been married), we finally bought a tent.  We had to learn how to set it up before real camping so we pushed all of our furniture to the side.  It is a 16 foot by 7 foot tent - so it was pretty tight in our little apartment.


Yes, Riley played with it like a kid eating candy for the first time!  Julia loved playing it it too, although she liked to push on the side of the tent a lot.  I think she liked the crinkling sound.

Look what Amazon brought....

Look what Amazon brought in the mail today!  Not only did I find our new tent in there, but also a cute little almost one-year-old girl.  It was the bonus gift with buying a tent. :-)

Rub a Dub Dub in the ...... kitchen sink!!!

Since I have been teaching Julia to drink milk, she gets quite messy during each feeding and milk is super sticky.  So I find myself just washing her in the kitchen sink because I don't want her to think that it is bath time and be soothed since she has two more hours of playtime usually after eating.  She is so cute in the kitchen sink and surprisingly makes less of a mess than I thought she would.  Thank goodness she can't stand up yet.  I absolutely love this picture - such a babe!

Fun weekend!

Last Friday, Chris, Jen and Kylie came down to see baby Nixon.  It was so fun to have ALL the sisters there.  My mom was excited to have all her daughters and grandchildren in one place.

On Saturday we all went to Cafe Rio for lunch.  I absolutely love Cafe Rio and their pork salad....mmm mmm good!  I am so glad it is available in California now!!

Julia closes her eyes if a camera has a red light that comes on before the flash, like my moms or amandas camera, shes like anticipating the flash or something, its super funny!!

 On Sunday, we had a lovely day going to church and staying home for the first time in weeks.  At church, in sacrament meeting we learned about trials, in gospel doctrine we learned about spreading the gospel to the Gentiles in the New Testament, and in Relief Society we learned about eternal families.  I really learned a lot at church and absolutely love my ward! Riley and I had such a relaxing time with Julia at home.  We played Settlers while she took her afternoon nap.  I love Sundays!!

BIG 5 BIG CHAIR!

We went to Big 5 last Monday and they had this huge chair out front.  Riley and Julia look so comfortable in it!
