Daddy-Daughter - Watching TV

This was too cute to pass up taking a picture.  Riley is watching the BYU game on his laptop - ESPN streams it now - wooo hoo - this helps with us not having any cable TV at our house.  Julia is watching Elmo on our big screen TV.  They are both watching what they love and I am probably on fbook or blogging or something when I caught them, but most likely doing the dishes or cleaning.  It is so nice when Riley helps with Julia when I need to get something done.  Lately, she has been standing on my legs WHEREVER I go and its hard to clean things. 

Going for a Walk....

We often go for a walk to return a Redbox DVD to Ralphs.  It is about 1 1/2 miles away, so its great exercise.  There is a park inbetween and sometimes we stop on the way back to go on the swings.  Julia is sporting her new birthday shoes from Uncle Chris, Aunt Jen, and Kylie.  The brand is Robeez and it is seriously the best.  First of all, I have always had trouble with putting shoes on Julia's feet because they were so fatty it was hard to get them on, but these Robeez are PERFECT!  Second of all, Julia would always pull her shoes off in minutes, but these Robeez are alot more difficult for her to take off, which is PERFECT!!!  Third of all, they are super cute!  Thanks Hulme Family!

We like to go to the park for FHE sometimes and its rarely crowded.  Julia loves the swings, the sand, and the slides.

Julia loves playing with hats!!!  When she plays peekaboo, she will put it on her head - it is super cute!
 

Julia got a "play" remote control for her birthday from her great grandma Jean.  But don't tell her its fake :-)  She is obsessed with our remote control buttons and knows how to turn the stereo on and freak me out!!!  So it is a great present!!

Julia is standing up on anything and everything.  Especially mommys legs when mommy is trying to get around and do something.

Nixon's Baby Blessing

On Sunday we got to go to Nixon's Baby Blessing.  Russ gave an excellent blessing of his name NIXON RUSSELL TAYLOR and many other special blessings.  A lot of people came - I don't think that I have ever been to a baby blessing with so many people attending in the audience specifically for the blessing.  It was super fun to talk with family and to meet some of the Taylor's other friends.  My sister Debbie was just glowing in the excitement and looked very cute in her white dress.  We went to the Taylor's house in Ladera Ranch afterwards for delicious desserts - Thrifty's Ice Cream - need I say more?.  For dinner, we went to my parents house for lasagna.


If you are wondering....What's an LDS baby blessing?
A blessing given by the priesthood to give a baby/child a name and future blessings - such as health, values, service, etc.  Typically a family member gives it and is around 1-5 minutes long.  In Nixon's case, his father was able to give it.  The blessing is given at the beginning of the LDS service (aka sacrament meeting) and family and friends come to join the sacrament meeting.

I don't have a twitter account....

I don't have a twitter account and I don't care to.  I just barely started my blog a few months ago.  I don't think I can ever take on another thing like that with my life. How many people truly need to know all my thoughts throughout the day? Cyber social things are going crazy!!  This is all I have to say today.

Birthday Partys!!! (Part II)

Last Sunday we celebrated with the Plumb side of the family for a whole bunch of September birthdays - Julia (14th), Tim (15th), Warren (16th), and Kristen (22nd).  We had some delicious fajitas.  Emily made some scrumptious cakes.  It was super fun to have all the children play together - although it can be a little chaotic 11 Adults versus 11 Children - but that's what makes it so great!  Julia enjoyed playing with all of her cousins, going on the trampoline, and petting Charlie.
